I used Google to search for animations or videos related to knitting. This wasn't the first site returned in the results, but it's definitely the best! I tried using books and other web sites, but still photos and drawings just didn't make sense to me -- I needed to see someone actually doing the stitches and techniques.

This site's a godsend! Since I started in January, I've made 14 scarves (!), 9 of them as gifts (I recently switched my job, and gave a bunch of good friend/former coworkers them as presents).

I just finished my first hat yesterday (it's for a charity event, see http://www.threeblacksheep.com/getinvolved.asp), and I'm working on a blanket for my cousin's new baby. My office is full of bags of yarn, needles, ribbon and beads, and I can't wait to start new projects.

I'm totally hooked!

I've also lost 10 pounds, and my blood pressure, which was elevated during a doctor's visit the last week of December, is back down to normal.

THANK YOU AMY!!

Great stories! I love this thread!

oshnpashn, you searched for "knitting help"?! That's just perfect.

JudyB, wow that's incredible that knitting has become such a significant part of your life and even your health! I'm very proud to be a part of that.

Haven't started the sweater yet, but...
I found this site when searching for a sweater pattern for my 2-yr-old niece.
The Bumble Bees sweater came up and that's how I found this site. And I just keep comin' back, particularly for those moments when I totally go blank on some of the abbreviations and techniques.

Thank you so much for the site, Amy.

Finding this site
I found this site through a newsletter I received at the Knitting Club I belong to.

I immediately went to it as I'm a new knitter and love the videos etc.

Found you, and I'm so glad!
I searched for videos related to continental knitting. The book I'm using, Knitting in Plain English by Maggie Righetti, is great but drawings can only go so far. I'm so thankful to find your site!

I've been knitting English/American style but the ribbing on my new tanktop is sooo slow that way. Learning a new technique is slow too, but I'm betting it will pay off for me. I'd like to finish this tanktop before September! Thanks Amy, for your help.
