How to measure?
My pattern says knit for 6" and it's stockinette. So it rolls. My ? is do I measure it as it lays or lay it flat and then measure? Thanks :D

Hi
I am in the same situation. I am knitting a roll brim hat and was wondering the same thing .I would assume you measure it flat . 6" is a big roll I did a hat that said knit for 12"inches before starting to decrease and it was way too much in my opinion. I do not know how critical it is . I would think it depends on the wearer. I am just learning though

I would unroll the roll, but do NOT stretch the fabric. Make it a generous 6".
