Shaping Armholes--My first sweater

I am making the Chunky Cardigan from the book Simple Knits for Cherished Babies. I have a question......

I am almost done with the first section and now I am going to be starting the shaping of the armholes and it says to:

"Cast off 2 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows."

So, am I casting off and then knitting the rest of the row? This is my first sweater and it looks like I am going to be lost. :crying:

Or, I am casting off 2 stitches, turning my work and casting off two more? And then I go on to the third row?? Ahhhhh. I am going to be a NEWBIE forever!!

Cast off the first 2 stitches, then complete the row. Cast of 2 stitches at the beginning of the next row, then complete the row. If you have up to this point been working stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl the next row) then you must continue it. So, for example, cast off 2, knit to the end of row, cast off 2 on next row, then purl to end of that row.

It helps if you try to visualize what the final piece will look like (if your pattern doesn't give diagrams of each piece) - you are shaping both armholes on the back piece at the same time, so what you do on one side, you will do on the other side!!
