I think yardage is a more accurate way to go. All Season Cotton
has 98 yds per skein. And at 10 skeins, I would calculate that I need 980 yds (I would round to 1000) in substitute to be safe. If you use acrylic, think about getting non dye lot so that you can buy more if you need it and not worry about color variances. You should only change your needle size to get the correct gauge. The pattern calls for size 7 needles, but you might find that YOU need to use a size 8 or a size 6 to get the specified gauge. That's why testing your gauge
is so important.
