kemp, i did these heresocks after only having done a few pair of socks and I had never cabled either and I promise u that i just followed the instructions & they really weren't difficult. You've done toe up socks already...I've not even done those yet....oh...I just thought of some cute and easy socks, i just have to find them; them may be in a book here...or online....i shall return with very fun & easy sock, but I'm not sure about the heel dealy
I found them here It's actually a 'family of socks' and I've knit a pair & it was easy & r very comfy
enjoy your search and....then enjoy the knitting of the sock, as we all do

Thanks Rebecca! I have been threatning my husband that the next pair of sox are his...unfortunately they would have to be black for him to ever wear them (he wears a suit every day ).

I think the cables would be fabulous for that project. Since I won't have the fun colors :( , a pattern to pay attention to would be great. Thanks for thinking of me!

Kemp I find I really NEED a pattern in a solid color yarn so dh always gets socks with some type of st in them. I've even gotten to where I want a st in most of the self patterning yarns. Have to keep the interest up so that the :XX: ing goes faster!!!

I think you will enjoy making them with a cable a lot more than in stst!!

I think you are right. I am getting pretty tired of the k2p2 rib I am doing now despite colored yarn!

I really enjoyed looking at your blog pictures! You have completed so many beautiful projects.

Thanks Kemp. I guess it really isn't a blog as I don't put much writing in it also I would not commit to writing in one every day. LOL

I like to use sts that cause the patterns to slant when I'm using the self patterning yarns. I have a dozen books that have sts only so get a lot of fun chosing new sts all the time.

For people with extremely narrow ankles and/or feet I use patterns that involve verticle n&p sts to pull in.
