foldedbird, here is a pattern that is almost identical to the bangle bag and there are places all over the net to order purse handles. I want to do the same thing with chunky yarn of some sort & that is my favorite handle, as well

On this pattern it says:
Row 1: k2, p2, k4, p6, k4, p2, k4, p6, k4, p2, k2

Rows 2 and 3: knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts

Rows 2 and 3, that translates to: p2, k2, p4, k6, p4, k2, p4, k6, p4, k2, p2,

Right?

Denise

Hi Foldedbird

Row 3 will be the same as row 1, not row 2.

When you knit the knits and purl the purls you shouldn't have to take the time to translate the pattern. They just want you to copy what's on your needle. Sometimes it is a little hard on the first few rows to see it, but after that you just look to see what's on your needle and do the same.
