i'm pretty new to knitting and i wanted to make a blanket. i'm making a pretty simple one right now w/o any patterns and i just wanna piece the pieces together by kitting it but i dunno how to go about doing so cuz i'm not an experienced knitter yet. what would be the best method to do thid and what needles should i be using?

If you've knit the two rectangles separately, you can't knit them together. You can, however, use the mattress stitch to weave them together nicely. There's a video that demonstrates it.

Yep - it's in the finishing section of this page. Also, may I inquire why you're using to rectangles?
