Confusion
This pattern was given to me and I have a question

Tension 18 sts=10 cm over stocking stitch.

I am using a circular needle placed my 88 stitches and insturctions say only Knit in the round for 8 inches does not say knit 1 row purl 1 row just to place a marker at the beginning of the round.

Is this childs hat done all knit or in stocking stitch.

If you're knitting in the round, you will only knit for 8 inches. Knit every row, around and around.

When knitting in the round, stockinette stitch IS knitting all stitches, whereas when knitting flat, you have to knit one row, purl the next to get stockinette. Ahhhh, the beauty of knitting in the round!
