Cap for running

I am looking for a pattern to make a hat similar to this:

I could care less about the team (I live in Denver, this would be nuts ;-) ) - what i am interested in is making a light weight cap for running - using sport weight yarn like Dale's Haulk. Running requires a hat that is tight enough to insulate/not fall off but also light weight because you get hot quickly. Also - it needs to be able to be scrunched up so it can go into a small pocket. Seems like it should be an easy thing to find but so far, no cigar. Maybe someone here has done this?

Without discipline, there's no life at all.
