Reading the instructions???

Thanks so much for helping me with my last problem....now I have another. I found a book with a cute hat pattern in it. There are terms
I do not understand in it. Maybe someone can interpret it ha ha ha .
When it reads "round 1: K2tog, k2tog: repeat from*____80 st."Does that mean that you knit 2 stitches together, knit 2 more stitches together then knit 1 stitch like normal? And I don't have the "foggiest" idea as to what *_____80st.. means.

Does anyone know of a good book I can get that might explain all the
terms and how to do it step by step? I think if I can get an idea ,I might just be able to do this :thinking: :thinking: Thank !

These abbreviations are from knitty.com; but they are pretty much standardized AND....if u will look up to your right, you will see a tab on the right of the 'forum' tab that is 'Abbrevations Explained' and I think that should help you a bunch

In addition to the abbreviations, when you see a repeat from *, you repeat the directions from that point however many times you're instructed.

When a number is given at the end of a set of instructions, that's how many stitches you should have at the end of that particular row.
