The new pompador yarns no long have a rayon wrap. It's OLEFIN! The same fiber they make Berber carpeting from. :rollseyes:
I crocheted a "request" with some and it's about the texture of twine.

I also want to do the gown from the top down, but I just don't see how that will work. :( I'm not THAT experienced yet to go messin with patterns. So I'll do as is....and ohhhh goodie...I get new needles!!! rofl....

I prefer to work baby and kid stuff from the neck down. It seems to fit better. If you could lay your hands on some older books, you might find something. Maybe the Public Library?

I think that I'll look...I don't LOVE the neck/yoke either...it is garter stitch, and just eh....the rest is purdy tho....

it's just constructed funky...

first the back, up to the yoke part
then the front
then the sleeves
then you go back and add the yoke back, then the yoke front, then I think you put the sleeves on.....just seems like a lot of back and forth work when the whole thing could be done top down, all at once!!! lol...

we are hoping that the baby will stay put for another 7 week, but more than likely will be there for 4, and then will be in NICU for a good 3-4 weeks, but with the quilt project...not MUCH time...but at least it will be little eh?
