hi everyone-what a cool website. i'm new and am hung up on a simple project. I'm using the "Beginner's Guide" by Alison Dupernex, which has been great so far, but I don't have access to anyone 'in person' to help me. I don't understand how to read a pattern. My project is the 'Shapely Stockinette' hat. I'm on the 1st row of (crown shaping) and have successfully (I think) knitted the repeat of *K3tog, K19, rep from * to last st. NOW...it's the next part that I don't understand because I've repeated to the last stitch. The entire line reads;
Next row (crown shaping): K1 * K3tog, K14 (16,18), rep from * to last st, K1-84 (104,116) sts.
Work 1 (1,3) rows.
If I've completed the repeat to the last stitch, where do the next 'K1-84 (104,116) stitches come in? Is this the next row?
I'm sorry I realize how basic this is, but I'd appreciate any help.
It's my 1st time to the site, but I look forward to everyone's info/projects/and advice. Thanks! :study:
