I have to voice my agreement with the periwinkle, lime and buttermilk combo. I think those colors would be lovely together.

Also, for what it's worth, I started knitting with Homespun, so I don't see that Crayon'll be too much trouble. It just takes a little attention is all.

Well - when I was pregnant my one stipulation to anyone knitting for me was 'NO PASTELS'!!!! I hate them with a passion and always wanted nice 'non-baby' colours which were virtually non-existant!

So for non-gender knowledge I would go for any colour except pink or blue .... :D

My DS's blankets were bright orange and lime green fleece and their sheets were dark blue, orange and lime green too!

Keep pastels away from me :D

I agree with sticking to primary colors for gender neutral blanket. Also I like crayon. I made a hoodie for my dd with it. It wasn't bad to work with at all.
