Cable with 3 Strands

I know this is a stupid question but I am knitting a poncho for my daughter and it requires 3 strands of various colors while I am knitting. My question is can I use 3 strands while knitting a poncho that has cables? I want to make a matching poncho as far as colors go but the poncho I want to make myself has cables.

Sure you can. They'll be bulky, but the rest is bulky, I imagine. When you knit with multiple strands, you just treat each group as one stitch.
