binding off

I just finished a baby afghan (first project besides dishcloths), and now I need to bind off. I watched the videos, but my pattern is K3 P3 across (small block/basketweave), and I'm not sure if I should knit one, slip one to bind off all the way across or is there a better way? Thanks in advance

You can bind off in pattern, that is, knit the knits and purl the purls as you bind them off.

Thanks Ingrid for the quick response! Will that method give me the smoothest edge? I was a bit confused with moving the carried yarn in the right direction to slip the stitches, but I think I've got it Thanks for your help!
