if i dont know the needle size do i need the gauge meter(I think thats what its called , a ruler with holes of different sizes in it) or can i measure it with out having to poke it thru the holes
It's best to have the thing that measures, but in a pinch you can poke a hole in a piece of stiff paper and maybe compare that to a needle you know the size of?
I just realized that I don't know if needles are measured by diameter or circumference. If it's diameter, you can measure the hole.
