Yay! I did it! I did it!
I am SO PROUD of myself!!!!

I made the SnB "Newsboy cap", and it has cables on it! I was able to figure out how to do them, thanks 100% to Amy's WONDERFUL videos and for everybody on this list that encouraged me!!! I feel like I can conquer anything knitting-related at the moment (well, maybe not anything!)! The hat has a couple of mistakes on it, but all in all, I was able to knit it from start to finish, and that's what counts, because I had serious doubts I would finish the hat after starting it. I bought some super cheapie acrylic in case I got frustrated with the pattern and my lack of experience knitting skills, at least I wasn't out a lot of money ($3.00!!!). Anyway, I think the hat yearns to be knitted in a tweedy wool, so maybe I'll make a version in that (something like this from Knit Picks.

Anyway, in addition to learning cables, I was able to figure out all of the increases and decreases without trouble, and use dpn's, which are things I wouldn't have known how to do say even 6 months ago. This group has given me such courage to try new things, and Amy's videos are AMAZING and invaluable. Thanks everybody--you guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!

Way to go! Don't you just totally love that feeling you get once you've finished a project?
