I'm from New Brunswick! - Fredericton, actually. There is somebody from the Saint John area (Black's Harbour, maybe?) who posts occasionally and another person from Fredericton.

I'm not sure of any around here. I think my LYS ocassionally teaches some knitting classes, but I don't know about any knitting groups. Your local yarn store may be able to advise you of something in your area.

I don't know about knitting groups in Moncton but I heard about this amazing store in Lakeburn http://www.thewoolworks.com/ maybe they have something going on there? I'm DYING to go visit that place (I'm hoping to go in december, my BF is from NB).
