Need advice re: Italian yarn and buying trip!

Hey there! I'm a relative knitting newbie, and I was hoping someone out there could help me. I'll be in Italy during May, and I thought that might be a great opportunity to pick up some nice yarns cheaper than I could get them in the States. Does anyone have any yarn recommendations for me ? Also, what WOULD be a good price for higher-end yarns (so I'll know if, in fact, I'm getting a bargain).
