The dress I wore to my graduation in 1986 had a sailor top so it was kinda boxy and then it had a 4 inch wide band that fit closely around the waist and a full, just below the knee skirt. . . .

I had a similar Liz Claiborne dress I wore to my 1984 graduation. Sailor style, sleeveless, cinched waste, wide belt, and came mid calf. It was white & red.

Outside of *that* dress, my clothing was more punk like Cindi Loper, Janet Jackson or Madonna. We wore more short skirts than dresses back then. Think short skirt about mid thigh with leggings or funky tights alog with bulky sweaters & tops with large stripes poka dots, or bright patterns. Oh, and I wore a bunch of tops with one sleeve, or off the shoulder. I cringe at my high school & college photos--burn photos--burn.

Oh, don't remind me. My ds said I looked like a scared rooster with all that hair swirled at the front of my head--yikes!
