will 100% merino aran felt?
I have promised my sister i would make her a felted bag - she gave me the wool she would like used. however it is debbie bliss 100% merino aran (machine washable at 40 degrees) would this felt at a higher temperature? I am very very new to knitting and would appreciate some advice.

If it is machine washable, that means that the wool has been treated so that it won't felt. I don't think it matters how high a temperature you use, it won't felt. Sorry.

No machine washable yarn will felt. I hope she can return it and get something else. She should ask someone in the shop to recommend a good felting yarn. Some yarns felt more than others. Also some white or off white yarns won't felt well because of a bleaching process used on them.
