How to convert a pattern to circular

I'm trying to figure out how to change a sweater pattern to circular, I just finished a vest for my son and didn't enjoy seaming it up at all! I just want to do a simple stockinette stitch pullover for my granddaughter. Would I just knit as usual until I get to the underarms, then put half the stitches on a holder and follow the pattern as it's written for front and back? Also, does anyone know of a site that has patterns knit on circular needles? I've been looking all day, but haven't really found anything that catches my eye!

To convert a stockinette stitch sweater to the round, you've got the right idea. You can take 4 stitches off the total cast on to account for the stitches used in seaming, and you're good to go.
