i'm still having trouble understanding how to stitch two bound off edges together and how to stitch a bound off edge to a side edge. any videos or very thorough instructions out there?

I have seen amy's videos. they were helpful for mattress stitch.
the knitty webpage is great! very detailed. i guess i'm just a little discouraged as i want it to look really nice on my first try. and it's not coming out so well... just gotta practice more.

But when the two edges don't match up, line stitching shoulder seams or stitching on sleeves. this is where i'm having the issues.
