How to seam bound-off edges from garter stitch, horizontally

I'm in baby bootie heaven -- trying different patterns to see which ones I'll make as a gift. I just made one of these http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/be...n-booties.html and have a seaming question, so it seems (ha ha).

I did the toe and seamed up the top of the foot part, and now have to seam the front ankle part. This part is two bound-off edges that are side-by-side, and I've only found instructions for bound-off edges that are aligned vertically. Also, I think the finished product would look best with an invisible seam.

Any suggestions?
