I made the Lily hat for my granddaughter but it is too small for her head. Does that count, or does it have to be something knit between now and July 1 ?

Hi! I don't think it matters when you knit it. The main thing is that they get it before July 1st. If they get it after that, then they will save it to send next year. I think the Lily hat sounds like a great thing to send.

ANYTHING warm counts!

And you can send whatever you have completed. I'm sending a baby hat I made over a year ago, as well as an alpaca neckwarmer I made last month. (I can't see that I will EVER need anything that warm in Charlotte, North Carolina!)

I've decided to stop knitting, and get my package ready to mail, so it will get there by July 1st. (Anything they receive after July 1 will be saved for next year's shipment to Mongolia.)

I am still knitting. I am sending mine flat rate priority mail, which is 2-3 day delivery. so i am going to mail it on the 25th to make sure they get it in time. So far I have 1 hat and 2 scarves finished

. I also have another hat, another scarf, and a neck warmer otn

. i need to call my friend and see if she has finished anything else.

You guys are lucky! I am still working on the hat

... but for some reason i had a difficulty with the size and had to make it bigger to fit an older age group. So, I had to start over, I should finish soon though! Oh well, I might have time to only knit one thing,

but I will be happy knowing that my one hat brings comfort to somebody!

Well, I am using bulky yarn and size 13 needles, so that makes a huge difference!

I just had all this yarn in my stash that I probably wouldn't use for myself, so i thought it would be great to give it to people who need it and will greatly appreciate it

.

I know that whoever gets the hat you are making will be grateful and have a very warm head, and that is what matters.

I talked to my friend's sister, and they are both making hats. so far they have finished 5 i think.

they are making them in all sizes though, they had lengths of yarn precut for certain sizes, so they are just making as many as they can.

I'm 1/2 finished one scarf.. will finish today.. Then do next scarf tomororw.. mail express thursday..

Shandeh, thanks so much for giving this challange.. The ladies at the post office loved the reason when I explained why I'm constantly mailing packages.

They have always said... if you're mailing stuff for charities. come to the front of the line.. we all will get you first.

I appreciate it, but I don't do it. They haven't taken me up on knitting lessons yet.. but they are asking more & more questions..
