Sorry I'm so slow to answer... The plan is to settle in Victoria. I have family in both Victoria and Vancouver, so Vancouver is not ruled out in my job search, but I'm hoping for Victoria.

Wow. That was cool, Amy! Thanks for the lessons (for us ignorant Americans even!) I use my credit or debit card so much that I hardly see the real money! I know my FIL collects the state quarters, but I had no idea about the new $1 coins. I actually saw a display box thing and couldn't figure out what it was for since I had no clue that they were releasing new coins!

Victoria would be close to me! We're on Vancouver Island, about 1.5 away from Victoria.

That would be really cool!!!! We could go yarn shopping together sometime. Have you ever been to Beehive Wool Shop before? That place...

It's only a 20 minute walk from my mom's house. I wonder if she would let me live with her indefinitely (I'm staying with her until I find a job and my own place), just so I can be close to the yarn shop?

Believe it or not, I've lived nearby enough for 5.5yrs and I've never been there. When we go to Victoria, I'm always with my kids and dh and we've driven past many times but are always on our way to Beacon Hill or the harbour or whatever that he never wants to stop :rollseyes: silly man. I guess next time I should make sure that I'm the one driving, except I'm scared to parallel park
