This weekend is the
Somerville ArtBeat Festival, with a theme of ArtBeast. It's in Davis Square, and there will be knitting!
"All Day — Knitting
There will be two knitting groups at ArtBeat this year! At the “Beauty and the Fiber Beast” table, festival goers can feel fibers from beasts (camels, yaks, goats, dogs and silkworm) as well as fibers from non-beasts (soy, bamboo, seaweed, corn). See how yarn is made, get instruction or tips, or knit/crochet your own small beast. Meanwhile Sarah Davitt will be organizing knitters to create “yarn-lichen” to display on trees, statues and fence poles throughout the festival."
