I was considering making the Argyle pullover shown in Creative Knitting, Jan 2007. For the body, I would be using Nature's Wool bulky and for the diamonds, Malabrigo. The colors look awesome together and the gauge works...but I feel a bit silly using the scratchier yarn for the body and a soft yarn for the accents.
On the other hand, I only have one skein of the malabrigo in that color and I don't really like doing scarves so...
Is this just silliness and I should hang on to the malabrigo for something else? I have a bunch of malabrigo in other colors (enough for a sweater or two).
Why don't you knit up a swatch to see how you like them together? My only concern would be that the malabrigo may look a little out of place in the middle of all of that Nature's Wool Bulky. Of course, until you actually see it, you won't be able to tell.
OTN - too many things at once (if that's possible).
FOs- knitty's "back to school" for the sister, and lots of single socks (I'm a repeat victim of SSS).
