Has Anyone Made Penny Straker's "Whit Vest"?
Hi,

Still looking for the right vest pattern for my MIL. Jints and Knittingnat kindly gave me some ideas, but I did need something that can be knit flat, as I haven't learned to knit in the round yet.

After HOURS of looking all this week, I think I found it: Penny Straker's Whit Vest.

Whit Vest

Has anyone made this? And if so, how was the pattern? It doesn't look fantastically complicated, and I like knitting cables. I wanted something more than plain stockinette, but not something so complicated that I'll start to fume and wish I'd never agreed to make this--probably not good knitting karma.

I haven't taken my MIL's measurements yet, so I don't know if I'll need to adjust it above 48". I don't think so, though.

Any tips/stories/pictures about this vest would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
