Great job Jan. One fine day I will progress to more than one colour in a project. I added a few rows of a different colour to my granddaughter's hat (the one that went with her fweater), but just broke the yarn and started on the second colour, then did the same back to the original. I thought that was pretty brave. You people are inspiring me on to bigger and better things......

Wasn't that book an absolute 'hoot'!!!?? Those gals are so hilarious! The entire book was a good read! Yes, they have de-mystified a lot of knitting techniques for me! And I did read that they ALWAYS have a log cabin in progress. As they finish other projects, they add the leftover yarn into their current log cabin project! What an interesting concept! Of course, you can buy a boatload of yarn and "Plan a Log Cabin" on purpose...but I really like the idea of using leftovers for a log cabin, too!

I bought the book, it was that good. Thanks for sharing your log cabin square for us! I guess that log cabin concept would work good for interesting looking dishcloths, too!

What will you use this square for? Will you continue to add to it?

I finished another square now, this one in shades of blue/purple/multi.

Artlady, I am making them for Sandy's square project..we make squares, send them to her and she puts them together for charity. Works for me and I get to use up stash yarn.

I think I would like to buy yarn specifically for this project for me someday. I'd prefer a more orderly color pattern for myself.

So you finally caught the Mason Dixon bug. Their book makes knitting so approachable. I made a log cabin dish cloth. I've done the dish cloth reloaded-hint place markers to divde each repeat. I've done the log cabin Absorba bath mat, the bibs, baby genius burp cloth, (same stitch pattern I used on the Odd Ball Charity blanket) and the baby kimino.

With two squares down you'll soon have a blanket.

Their sequel comes out next spring.
