We got a new car on Sat, Picked it up yesterday!

Earlier this year our old car a Dodge Intrepid shut off while we were in a intersection preparing to turn into the parking area of the Tampa VA clinic for an appointment for one of us. Hubby managed to get it started again, we pull into the parking lot, find a space and as we are pulling into the parking space it shuts off again. We had it towed home and started looking for a new car as the place it was repaired at said it could just die at any time. So we researched cars online and decided on Honda. On June 9th we went to Brandon Honda and bought a CR-V that had everything on it that we wanted. It is the color called Twilight Blue Metallic.

In a couple of weeks we are going to drive up to VA to help baby sit our youngest grandson for our DIL while she is working and her hubby is away at school in Chicago for military school classes he has to take if he wants to advance in rating.. I will be taking some knitting with me to keep me sane while driving in areas that don't have good radio reception. Not that we listen to the radio in this car. I have music on a thumb drive in MP3 format . This car has a USB plug that you plug the thumb drive into and hit the AUX button on radio . The radio then plays the music on the thumb drive. Imagine listening to your favorite music with no commercials! My hubby loves it for for the back up camera that comes as standard equipment on Honda vehicles. That really helped my hubby make up his mind to buy.

Yay for you! We've been driving Honda Accords for over 20 years now and our youngest daughter just bought her third Honda Civic. The main reason other than they look nice is they are SO reliable. IMO they are well worth the extra money. DH wants the dark red CRV in a few years.

Does it have a tire on the back? Some CRVs do. If so, you will want a tire cover like mine.

Wow, that tire cover is so kewl! Great job! I have a Isuzu Rodeo that has the spare on the back, but because mine has extra wide tires the spare has no "cover" to cover.

That's great! You have an actual practical reason for making one The one I made is crochet, but if you look at the pattern page, it's simply a doily pattern but in much thicker yarn (I used Red Heart because it's so sturdy, I thought it best for outdoor use). If you only knit, just search Ravelry for a doily pattern which works from the center out. My Ravelry project page also showed how I easily attached it to my tire (elastic around the outer edges).

I hate shopping for a new car but love taking delivery on the new one. My husband's car has a backup camera and it's fascinating and so useful. Glad you have one in the new car. Good luck with it and happy driving!

We do not have the spare on the outside. It sit in its own little space under the floor mat in the back behind the back seat. The back up camera was a godsend sent we almost got hit backing out of a parking space at a restaurant we stopped at on the way up to VA.The person was flying through the parking lot trying to get out into traffic. Other than that nothing else happened until we got to our son's place. our daughter in law had another house come in while we were there and she brought her dog and her two god children. The dog was a very neurotic dog and was scared of my husband even though we had never seen the dog before. grandsons dog , Sadie is a Staffordshire Terrier but she looks like a pit bull. The boxer pooped upstairs the morning after they arrived and one of the kids said that Sadie did it. Bu my hubby had been sitting downstairs reading and Sadie was down there with him. My hubby asked the kid what color it was and the kid said it was dark colored. Sadie eats a light colored dry food and the boxer ate a dark colored food. It wasn't Sadie 's poop. Those two dogs would make laps around the furniture until my daughter-in-law moved the ottoman to block them . All i all it was a nice week , but hot up there as it was here at home.On our way up there when we were in NC we did get rained on a bit.
