Here's what you need to do and it will work on any toe up sock you knit. Knit until the foot part is the right length and Liat Gat will show you exactly how to know in KNITFreedom - Toe Up Socks: When To Start Increases For Fleegle Heel and she talks about increasing for the gusset. Per Fleegle's instructions, increase the heel stitches until you have the correct number (your heel stitches will be 2 less than half your total sock stitches) or skip the math, go here here and scroll down to find your numbers on the chart. When you're ready to turn the heel watch
KNITFreedom - Toe-Up Socks: Turning The Heel (Fleegle Heel) and disregard the numbers for her pattern and just follow the rest of the instructions.

I have bought more than one Felici yarns to make gift socks either for the grandsons or my daughter. Your socks are gonna be great and I have never done a toe up sock though I have knitted dozens of socks in my time and never done the fleegle heel either so who knows. I am a dpn sock knitter all the way though I did teach myself magic loop just never used it.

Okay ladies - what is so good about the Fleegle heel - is if fit, ease of construction, no holes/gaps, padding or something else, tell me, tell me. I'm relatively new to socks (have socks on needles now) and the debate on sock heels seems confusing and ongoing and I just can't seem to get a good handle on each type. I know I'll probably have to knit a pair with each type of heel for myself to work it out but keen to know the pros and cons of each type - no I don't want much do I!

GG: Why do you prefer the Fleegle heel over the Faux heel flap?

Questions - yes I'm full of them and I know who to ask

Thanks in advance for responses.
Oh my! I don't know about the Fleegle heel, but I'm always trying to convert folks to the Fish Lips Kiss Heel! It's so simple and fits so well! Check it out on Ravelry.
