I just found this video on YouTube while I was watching the ones that you posted above ... I'm pretty sure that this is exactly what you have been demonstrating, only from the perspective of an English style knitter! Just thought I'd share in case there were any other English knitters out there interested in trying out your technique!

I will watch it and then forward it to my mother in law who is and English style knitter and would love to do weaving on the inside.

If I could do both styles I would LOVE to use the Philosopher's wool version. But... well, we are all limited to the trades we know

Yes, as an English knitter I did find the video I posted above helpful in making sure that I was applying your concept correctly. Your video was overall much better though ... you positioned the camera behind so that the viewer was "looking over your shoulder", so to speak, and seeing the knitting from the same point of view that they would be if they were actually doing the knitting. You did a really good job on the videos.

It is much harder to follow a video where the camera has you facing the person knitting head on - you are always having to flip things around in your mind and think about how it should look from your position as the knitter (just a tip for any YouTube video makers out there!)

Anyways, thanks again ... so far my project is going great (although a little slow ). I'll post pictures when it's finally done!

i feel the same way about knitting videos and made extra sure the angle was right.
Mostly when I show things to someone (or get something shown) in knitting in real life, I prefer the look from the same side, even 90 degrees off is not the same.

Once you have done it for a bit it builds routine and you can "forget" about technique (I think you see this in my video).

I will forward the link you found to my mother in law and will see her smile next time I see her.

And I am waiting for the pictures of your project!

You are right that once you understand the technique it does get much easier ... you get into a groove and are able to do it more quickly. Even on only my second round I was already finding it more comfortable and faster than the first round.

Hopefully it won't take me too long to complete ... my knitting time is a little more limited than I would like!

thanks, girls. I have now finished my hat going with this and am the proud owner warmed by neckwarmer, wrist warmers and hat in the same design and yarn.
It was a really fun knit!
