FO: "Liesel Meets Kyoto" (scarf)
I was truly blessed with the gift of a lovely red yarn, called Art Fibers "Kyoto". My Rav knitting buddy (knitwitmom) and I met at my SeaTac airport during her 5 hr layover last month. I surprised her with some sterling silver/swarovski crystals stitch markers...she surprised me with this fantastic yarn. I'd never heard of it. It's only available in San Francisco...but I think you can order it online, too.

Anyway, it was a real search to find the right scarf pattern. Finally decided on "Liesel"...but only knit half the repeat in width. I saw projects under "Liesel" (at Rav) that gave me the idea. Some knitters knit 3 repeats in width, making it almost shawl-like.

So here is "Liesel Meets Kyoto"...

That's really pretty!

And that yarn looks scrumptious!

That yarn and color are beautiful! Looks so soft. The pattern looks similar to the one in the "comfort shawl" I posted but your yarn shows it off a lot better I think.

very nice and perfect work as ever!
I did print the pattern. Maybe I get to make a scarf from it some day soon. A double repeat would make me happy with this pattern I think. But your single makes a very neat piece for that yarn!

I think you're right. A double repeat is the way the pattern is designed. But I didn't want a 12" wide scarf for this yarn. I wanted a longer, more narrow scarf!

It was really easy to knit! Loved doing it!

I love the Leisel - yours is gorgeous! Really like the narrower, 1 repeat look. The color of the yarn is really lovely too!!
