confused on wording
does fasten off mean the same as bind off and cast off?? working with a pattern is round needles and am done one part looks like it all knits as one big sweater but i bit confused on the pattern at the end of the collar so unsure if fasten off means I am done with what I am knitting ?? please help

Fasten off is usually used after the BO, or if you draw the tail through sts still on the needle for a hat and it can mean to weave the tail in. What kind of pattern are you doing, and what exactly does the pattern say? (just that part only, not the whole pattern).

it is a sweater I am knitting starting with the cowl collar. says turn work with WS facing,remove marker,sl 1p,replace marker back. WS of cowl is now RS of sweater. Fasten off cc

It just means to cut that CC color yarn leaving a nice tail to work in later. You are now going to start with the other color using the same live stitch loops and do what it tells you next.
