Help with stretched ribbing

So I made a test Cabled Fingerless glove with a basic cable pattern with 1x1 ribbing around the wrist. It sews up the seam. The test glove turned out really nice, but I foresee a problem with it. I have really small wrists and the ribbing seems to stretch out pretty far. When it fit nearly perfect at first, now it looks too big around the wrist. There are no decreases in this pattern. Any ideas how to make the ribbing tighter? Or maybe an idea to make decreases for the rib part?

What kind of yarn are you using?

It calls for Worsted. I just used some leftover I had. I think it was Moreno.

Merino? Thats a wool yarn and should unstretch when you wash it. Just get the cuffs wet and smoosh the ribbing back small and let dry.

If your wrist is really small you may have to make a smaller size, too.

Is the ribbing just around the wrist and then changes to something else after that? If so you could cast on a few less stitches and work the ribbing and then on the first row of the next part increase evenly across to the number of stitches you need.

The cable part is knitted first and it ends with about 8 rows of the ribbing. My wrists are really small, but the hand part fits perfectly that's why I'm hesitant to make them completely smaller. I'm going to try wetting it and see what happens.

My friend wants a pair so I'm going to make her some that are acrylic and see how it goes.
