trying toknit a penguin
i knowvery little about knitting, the pattern says "inc 4 sts in next and follow alt rnd once more.28 sts." I get how to increase by one, but how can i increase 4

Often an undesignated increase is a kfb (knit in the front and back of the next stitch). That would be an easy one to use. Just do it 4 times evenly spaced across the row.
