New knitter - mobius strip??

I am knitting a very simple hat using circular needles. About an hour ago all was well, now all of a sudden I seem to be knitting a mobius strip. There is a twist such that it goes over the needle on the right and under the needle on the left. I can't even describe it well. I have knitted approximately 2 inches of rows of a band (lower portion of the hat) and that is what is twisted. Does this make sense to anyone? Thank you if you can figure this out!!

You probably just twisted the knitting or cast on at some point without knowing it. Unfortunately you'll have to start over to correct it unless you like the way it looks.

It's easy to sometimes twist the first round even if hthe Cast on was straight. You can take it back to the end of the first round and untwist it, or start over.

And it's not a real mobius strip as you'll find when you take it off the needles there's two edges, not one.
