FO: Elaine's Ishbel
Another lacy shawlette, this one a Christmas present for my co-worker Elaine. Only 2 more shawls before Christmas and then I think I'll be done with lace for a while. I love this pattern, though. It's a simple lace pattern that looks much more complex than it is. A quick and easy knit, even with the beads.

Pattern: Ishbel
Yarn: Ella Rae Lace Merino in Rose, Tan & Orange (#119)
Beads: Size 8 Czech glass beads in Royal Ruby

seeing this, I wish I was your work mate

Great, but in lace we expect greatness of you.

Just making my first lace shawl ever I am more sucessfull than I thought I would be. But these are far beyond my range.

PS: Drops (Garnstudio) will be out with a new lace yarn in a few weeks. They already have the preview up on garnstudio.com. It is called "Drops Lace" and will have 800 m to the 100g hank. I am totally curious about that one, but I will have to wait, at least for a while. My favorite is that pale rose color.

Wow, 70% baby alpaca and 30% silk. That has to be the softest lace yarn ever!

can't wait to get my hands on it!
But they say something like 11 weeks so I will have to be patient.

I know you said you were done with lace for a while, but have you ever seen this:

I think that piece may be getting me into lace... it might be a great gift for my mother. She wears lace scarfs / printed woven scarfs with fine dresses and such.

If you would make it, let me know how it goes.

That is just drop-dead gorgeous. I like the peacock motif in shawls and I've been considering this one:

Now I have another to consider, though either one would take me forever! Maybe next summer when school is out. Thanks for the beautiful pic.
