pattern problems

this is my first attempt and knitting something that is not a scaff all has gone well till now. there is a bit in the pattern i cant uderstand and it goes as follows

pick up and knit 24 stiches (got that bit) alon shaped edge, 7 sts from 9sts cast off at top of right sleve 8 sts to center back of neck 37sts

does anyone understand this please help

Sounds like you were able to do this part?

7 sts from 9sts cast off at top of right sleve

Now that you have finished picking up stitches along the shaped edge, does the edge continue with a section where you previously cast off 9 stitches? Continue picking up stitches right where you left off, so that you pick up 7 more stitches from the cast off section.

8 sts to center back of neck

... And continue picking up 8 more stitches between where you have now got to and the center of the back of the neck.

37sts

You should now have 37 stitches.
