Sewing forum suggestions
I got my first sewing machine for Xmas last night. It is the Brother® LB-6800THRD Computerized Sewing and Embroidery Machine. I don't know anything about sewing machines but the reviews and what I have found online aren't too bad for this machine.

I was wondering if anyone here can suggest a forum/website comparable to this one specifically for sewing. I have been watching youtube tutorials and reading the manuals of course but it's so nice to have a community of all skill levels to get and give advice from.

Thanks! No, haven't come across this site yet but I'm trying it now. I've been searching ALL day and haven't found much that is comparable to KH. This forum and the people, tutorials, etc are just so awesome.

There are several ravelry groups for avid sewers. This is one of the groups I joined when I first got started really sewing seriously. Lots of fun projects posted there. :-)

This site is meant to be sort of like ravelry but it is rather new and I can't say I have spent a lot of time looking at it. I was the same way with ravelry when I first joined too so I am sure I will eventually start using it more.

Enjoy your new machine. Lots of blogs out there with fun projects. My feed reader is full of project ideas every day.

Awesome, thanks brendajos. I really wish sewing was a whole part of Ravelry like knitting and crocheting. It's my second favorite place to be next to KH. I just haven't found where I fit in sewing yet. I'm sure I will eventually.

Patternreview.com has lots of sewing-related info.

If you do heirloom sewing, Marthapullen.com also has a good site.

Also, Sewforum.com.

They have some articles online for free... however, if you have a little money or if your library has this magazine- it's awesome!
