Just want to make sure I understand
I found a patchwork afghan for a beginner since it only uses the knit and purl stitch and I just need to make sure that I am reading this correctly: (.Knit 1 stitch and purl 1 stitch, and knit 1 across row) just means every other stitch will be a purl?

Here is a link to the pattern:

Weird, the link didn't work for me, but I found it in the projects.

Anyway, yes it looks as though this is going to be a k1 p1 rib row, you end with k1. The next row which is knit all makes it a broken rib stitch.
