Adding to bottom of sweater knit in round

I'm knitting a very large all wool, kettle dyed sweater in the round and after working almost to the neck decrease now find that it could/should be a little longer. The bottom is made up of 5 different Fair Isle patterns of maybe 10 rounds in each pattern. Is there a good way to add to the length of a sweater? Could I knit another border pattern and sew it on? Also, the bottom is curling and rolling. Will blocking help this?

You could add some ribbing to the bottom. This will add length and get rid of the curl.

If you wanted to add more pattern, I'd probably knit it on rather than sew it on by picking up stitches. You'd add a seam, but it wouldn't be all that noticeable. Also, you could add a hem for the curling if you went that route.
