can a pattern be "doubled" for animals

I have these patterns - I'm not sure how to link it because it was a zipped and in PDF format - but it's for a set of three dinosaurs that I want to make at least twice the size - can I just "double" the pattern - where it calls for 2 stitches, make 4 - if so is there anything I need to watch out for with increases, decreases - if I double, that would mean that I would need to also double the rows??
I know when doing animals that it's important to do close stitches so that the stuffing doesn't come out so I couldn't double the size of the stitch itself (ie sc to dc) - Help I'd really love to have some good sized cuddly critters

If the pattern uses thin yarn and a small hook you can use heavier yarn and a bigger hook instead. But yes you can see what happens if you double the sts, you'd also have to double the row count or measurments given. Go ahead and try it out, you may figure out a way to make it work.
