I seem to be suffering a severe brain drain today. (I blame it on the snowstorm!) I'm making this baby cardigan
, which is a very simple pattern but I can't for the life of me figure out how to start finishing the sleeves. It's a top-down one-piece knit that has you place 38 stitches for each sleeve on holders while you finish the body. Easy enough. After you bind off the body, it says:
(Finish the sleeves)
Pick up 38 sleeve sts.
Rnd 1: pm at beginning of round, k38.
Rnd 2: join to k in round. K38.
It sounds simple enough, right?? But do to my (hopefully) temporary mental condition, I can't figure out how, after I put the stitches back on the needle, to join live yarn and begin knitting. Do you just hold it in your hand and leave a loose tail to weave in later? I watched the video on picking up stitches but that's for creating live stitches and I already have live stitches from the holder. I'm thinking I just hold the yarn like I would if I were actually picking up stitches to begin the knitting but I'd appreciate some confirmation or correction if necessary. Thanks!
