Simple Garter stch scarf, right? WRONG! LOL
thanks to everyone who has helped me out so far with my all my posts! Still trying to get it all together here with my knitting. So here's my ?...Though I've made several small projects, and a few of those have been simple knit each row scarves which I've kept for myself. They were in no way perfect, but they were just for me and I figured that I would get better with practice. The scarves for myself either always went wide in some spots (I figured out I was accidentally increasing) or I'd drop a few stitches but I learned how to pick them up again, etc. or the sides (edges? )the first stitch on each row...never looked neat, but as I said these were for myself and so didnt bother me much. Ok, so here's the problem: I am now making a simple garter stitch scarf to give to someone and I am going crazy over the side (edges) of the scarf! The funny thing is its only one side that looks funky! I've tried both slipping the first stitch when I begin the row and Ive tried pulling it tight before continuing, but still the edge just looks sloppy while the other side looks great! PLEASE someone tell me what am I doing INCORRECTLY and what can I do to stop it? Thanks so much!
