continental v english method video

Hello everyone

ok, i just went though the continental method and english method,
even though i am lefty it does not manner because i use both hands, diffrent things with left and other things right or both at the same time sense i am a groomer.

well should i learn both or may i decided which one i have a easier time with? I will learn both if that is reguired and i am not trying to take short cuts , just would like to know

because i have been practiceing with the same yarn it seems to be coming off the needles unless of cause that is me when i did try both, to me i seem to be able to pick up the english method faster, but also still working the hands not that smoothly

I say try thm all and see what you like! I started with english, tried continental then went to combo and now knit continental and norweigen (sp?). You never know!

I can't imagine why anyone would want to do English style, I've tried it, and I can't take it. :os I have heard that if you want to be able to do both, it's best to start English and then do Continental.

Many people prefer english style to continental; the purls are easier and tension is more even.

It's easier for some people. Even though I was a crocheter I prefer the english method. Both ways get you to the same place so you should do what works for you.

That said I agree - learn both if you can because there is value in knowing both for some things like stranded knitting. If you're learning though choose one to learn with so you can become proficient and comfortable with knitting in general.
