Cable pattern hat
Hi..This is the first time I am doing cables in the round...If the pattern doesn't specify how to "take off stitches" too hold in back or front, do you take em off as to purl or knit..

Always slip them as if to purl.

With the needle tips together, slip them from the L needle to the cable needle as if you were sliding them along the needle. Same for slipping from the cable needle back to the L needle, though you can just work them off the cable needle.
