Hi,
I have a pattern here for a jumper and have almost completed it (yay!).
I have got stuck on the neckband.
The pattern states (for 2x2 rib) to knit up 28 sts evenly along left side of neck, knit across sts from front stitch holder, knit up 28 sts evenly along right side of neck and then knit across sts from back stitch holder.
I have joined the right shoulder seam with backstitch. I spoke to the pattern makers who said that the pattern was badly phrased (great - in a beginners book too!) and that knitted up really meant to use the existing cast off stitches from the front to create 28 new stitches, then continue the row with those stitches on the stitch holder and gain another 28 stitches on the other shoulder.
Is there any videos of how to start this? or how to pick up the stitches? Can anyone explain it in really simple terms?
Thanks
