Help - Turn & Cast on
Trying out my first ever knitting project that isn't a scarf
I've got a row of 12 stitches. The next instruction is: K6, turn and cast on 2sts. Count 8sts.
From what I can work out - turn just means turn it round (so front is now back) - but what needle do I cast the 2sts onto - the one in my left or my right hand?
Help me!

What does the next line of the pattern say?
Most likely you turn. CO 2 stitches to your now empty right needle, then work the 6 from your left needle.
However, the pattern may say CO 2 and work all 8. In which case you should CO 2 to the right needle, then slip them back to your left needle and work all 8 stitches.

After you turn, cast the 2 sts onto the needle in your left hand. Now the left hand needle will have 8 sts as the pattern states and the right hand needle has the 6 sts left from your original 12.
You can do a cable cast on or a loop cast on which are demonstrated in the videos under the tab Free Videos at the top of this page. A link to the pattern or a few more rows are always helpful in trying to figure out where the pattern is going.

Cast on to the L needle after you turn, it'll have the stitches and yarn on it. Just knit into the end st, leave it on the needle and put the new st on the needle too. Repeat.
